This is my first time to CHIANG MAI, although it doesn’t impress the way that cities like Rome or Milan might, I find the city to be an excellent place to visit. It was my first taste of Thailand with my love and it was magic! We are lucky enough as we got the chance to hop into an island in LAOS for a half day tour. It was a relaxing trip for us, most of our time spent was exploring the city, getting immersed in the culture, eating, traditional massaging, shopping, and praying.
Chiang Mai is the capital of Chiang Mai province located in Northern Thailand. It is about 3 hours by air from Singapore and we took off our journey with SilkAir. Chiangmai is considered as one of the most culturally significant places in Thailand where it is possible to experience both historical and modern Thai culture coexisting side by side; the city features centuries-old chedis and temples next to modern convenience stores and boutique hotels.
The nightlife in Chiangmai is very colorful especially the night bazaar. You can find almost anything there; from souvenirs, DVDs, clothes, handicrafts, to furniture. I agree that this is one of the best night markets I've been to! The night market is so alive, they were a lot of people and so many places to go. We looked around stalls for souvenirs and other items. We also tried to bargain! There were also a lot of street food stalls. We bought many mango sticky rice and strawberries throughout our trip, non-stop munching. A trip to Thailand is incomplete without mango sticky rice!
For a girl like me to spent a holiday in such a cultural destination, it is really ridiculous. However, it's break from the confines of day to day life to just be. Traveling is more than just relaxing especially with the man I love, it is just simply good for the soul. Big thank you to Reliance Travels for your professional bun steer, we had a fabulous time!
